returning to anchoring out– marinas in mazatlan are similar in price to san diego .. so i will not support the high rates as i need to repair boat, not stay put..is nice here but there is still 2/3 of the trip to panama to get done…yes i have only done 1/3 of the trip to panama…we see where boat breaks for next stop…

i will be in the anchorage until i finish repairs on my jib and mizzen and change out a halyard and  hopefully install a racor system and  do some other insignificant yet cant sail without em  repairs….(bottom paint,  thru hull inspection and toilet repair ,,,LOL always fun!)

so far, while i have been here in mazatlan, i have had opportunity to visit 2 marine swap meets,in which folks dump some of their unwanted items to folks to whom those old items now become treasures–i gained a 65 pound cqr anchor for 50 dollars us, and a stern roller, and a nice screen tarp in green, and, omg!matching solar panels–3 of em!! and a mppt controller for those, and a beeyooooteefulll bronze hawse.cleat for my midships!!! among other items!!! i wish i coulda afforded the fridge bits one fella sells—mexicold–good stuff!!!!–onmy wish list for future investment!!!

checking masts….

now i check my main and mizzen masts for step condition. they are keel stepped onto wood which is on concrete, so condition is in question for the moment– we will loook at them and at the wedges in main mast partners, assess and repair what is able to be fixed in water, and make for waters more south—figure out the locale needed for decent repairs if needed–replace wedges properly–and sail her..i generally use mizzen and jib, as main is HUGE, main boom being about 20 ft give or take a foot or two–long and heavy. is also difficult to douse in seas and weather, so i avoid that by advance prep–not using….
llooking forward to making way again– i donot like stagnation or waiting, and i waited all summer for weather to cool a tad so work can get one–now is time to work, then SAIL!!!!!!
