Glad to hear all the good things happening. I’d have bought two smaller batteries just so they could be moved easier, but that’s just me. I presume pricing was a consideration, and 2, you had much help in getting the old beast out and the new one in. How big is the tear in the mizzen. I got the feeling it was not bad.
woulda loved to get smaller ones, but there is a pricing constraint– and i have to pay to get that kinda transformer we pitched–is actually rebuildable for 50 dollars and belongs in boat. with 6.66 i willnot be able to buy it, dammit.. shoulda kept the one i had. weight is not a concern on my boat,,,,duh…is a brick. weight only matters in racing. i do not race. oh well…… now to try to get money somehow– do ye know anyone who WILL donate to my website??? i need them bad…. please send….nothing like being brokeass in a foreign land.. and i was careful….
wanted 2 group 27— but found a d8 for 100 dollars–is wet cell, so like the golf cart ones i get to check em …..
tear is a 10 incher at the luff near the clew but nt in an important place– just need some wind free air to sew it — will leave it on boom to do that…. wind came up too quick today for that to get done… still sick from greenies’ flubug–is a nasty one for sure….. preventing my progress.
The tear in the Mizzen is pretty minor and at worst isn’t an issue if the Mizzen is reefed a bit it’s so low on the sail.
Zee,
For an 8D you need a manly man to hoist it out and install the new one. Price is proably cheaper for the 8D. Let us know BEFORE you sail off to Maz. Fair winds.
